Where is Charlie Brown

GRETA'S
FIRST AGILITY RIBBONS !

Greta had a fantastic AKC debut
weekend on December 11 and 12. She Q'd 3 out of 4 times!
The trial was held by the Golden Retriever Club of San Diego. We
were just getting ready to leave when one of the reps from the club
stopped me to say that Greta got the top Novice golden, so she got a
big, pink ribbon for that! She is so much fun! For a
beginner dog, she's doing so well. In class, she definitely is a
lot faster, but I was so happy with her performance that weekend.
She loves agility! She is so enthusiastic. Here is a link
to her runs.
You'll see four different groups
of videos, two from each day. She is the first run on the
first, second, and fourth groups. I've also attached some photos
of her with her ribbons from that first weekend.
We were also entered in a 3 day
trial last weekend, and she Q'd all 6 times! So now she is in
Open in both Standard and Jumpers. I'm lovin' it!!! And
everyone loves Greta. You should hear people say how cute she is
and how she puts on her game face at the start line, etc. And
yes, the whole game face thing is true. When we are waiting to
go into the ring, she is so distracted by the people and dogs.
But when she gets into the ring, she focuses on me and waits for her
cue. I'm really enjoying this ride with her!
Hi Linda, Linda, and Cherie,
It's hard to believe that
Greta is two years old! The Terrible Twos....... hmmmmm.
So far the worst thing she did this weekend was lick the frosting off
of her cake when she was suppose to be posing for some pictures!
Not too bad, I guess. :) Can't say that I blame her.
Before she even turned two, Greta was in Excellent B and had 3 double
Q's and 74 points! She also is in Advanced in USDAA. Not
too bad for a young dog! She has been the best dog to train, and I
love her zest for life and for agility. She loves it! When
she knows she going down to the field for class, she jumps out of
her skin with excitement! It's so cute.
I've attached some
pictures for you. The first one is of Greta posing with her
birthday cake that she has to share with the other dogs in the house.
What you don't see is when she was stealing lick after lick of
the frosting, like I mentioned above. The back of the cake had
no frosting left. :)

I wanted to fill you in on how Greta is doing. This past weekend she got her 402nd point, which means she has qualified for the AKC Nationals in Reno next March!!! She already has 16 double Qs too! I am over the moon!!! My older golden also qualified, so I am so excited to be able to run both of them at a national event. And since it is in Reno, that means we will be able to drive instead of fly, which is so much better. I can hardly wait!
Greta just keeps getting better and better. Her enthusiasm for the sport cracks me up! She has such a great time in class and in competition. She doesn't care which one. It's all good to her! What a great attitude! She does whatever I tell her to do, and is such a good listener. She isn't one of those dogs that will go off and take any obstacle. She listens and responds, but she is so fast in doing so. Sometimes I can't keep up with her, but she still responds to my commands. We do have our bobbles, but for the most part, she is doing so well! Sometimes I forget that she's only two, and then she'll do something like run off to visit a jump setter, just to remind me that yes, she is still young! But it makes me smile, and then on her next run she is 100% focused.
