This has
been a hard month for alot of the CCC students, myself included. All
our dogs are wonderful, perfect, smart, great companions, but some dogs
have added to that list by achieving some wonderful things in their
lifetime. Taking us to places that we have never been or attaining
goals we never thought possible.
These
dogs went above and beyond the call of companion....

Hobby is a once in a lifetime dream-dog. Owner handled to all his
titles and wins, he is the perfect picture of what every Belgian Sheepdog
should be. Intelligent, devoted, outgoing, determined! In 1992
he won Best of Breed at Westminster KC and the Purina Invitational.
He is a Multi Group placer. He was ranked #2 Conformation dog and #2
Novice Obedience dog that same year. He continued to show in
obedience and conformation and finished his MX title at TEN.
More than just a pet, he was my companion and always with me.
Protector and Puppy Raiser - he did it all - he PLAYED ALL THE GAMES and
did it WELL !!!
His accomplishments go on and on............he will be
missed.

Wylie nickname was "little farm dog". He was my constant
shadow and I was never out of his sight from the day that I brought him
home until the day he died. My first goal was to take him to the
BSCA National Specialty and place...he did more.. he won Winners Dog and
finished his championship under prestigious Annie Rogers Clarke.
this was the year after his dad was Best of Breed at the National
Specialty.
My next goal was to get an MX and MXJ...he did more...August 2003 he
finished his MASTER AGILITY CHAMPIONSHIP. ribbon. HE DID!!
Wylie is starting his obedience career with a 4th place in
Novice B at the 2001 BSCA National Specialty, then went on to get his
Am/Can/UKC CD and CDX without an NQ !! He is also the BSCA
Versatility Award Winner for 2001, 2002 and 2003!
Every day with him was a good day but the best days was a day with his
FRISBEE !

Certifed Service Dog for Paws With a Cause

A friend, a companion, a silent listener, a sympathic being,
beauty in motion, an angel in disguise. This only starts to describe
my beloved Joia. Joia was a mere 6 years old, too young to have
suffered from cancer, too full of life, so much left to give. Today
she joined Hobby and is now romping in the heavens, probably pulling at
Hobby's ruff, and showing off her talents for all to see.
She was not only my Paw's dog, but also my soul mate.
She seemed to know and share my thoughts. She knew all my secrets
and shared my deepest feelings. She always knew when I was down or
when I was feeling ill. She never neglected to wake me with a kiss,
and always knew when I needed a special hug.
I will never forget how she always got the kleenex for me when I sneezed,
and how she enjoyed showing off for everyone whenever we did a Paws
demonstration. She was always so proud and determined whenever I put
her Paws pack on. She loved attention and always got it.
I know how much she enjoyed the lake house and how quickly she learned
that swimming was a great sport. Then, agility became her love and I
remember how she waited for my neice to come and get her and take her to
the various trials. All the first place ribbons attest to the fact
that she really enjoyed the work break. But she was always glad to
come back to me with that Belgian smile, holding a ribbon and new toy in
her mouth. Once home, she would quickly get back to work at her
primary job as a service dog.
I will miss her terribly for I know that there will never be another Joia.
She had the heart and soul of a true and loving friend. We had
a very short, but wonderful time together and for this I am truly
grateful.
My thanks to Joia's breeder, Allison James, for donating Joia to the Paws
program, and to her foster mother, Joan Hebron who did such a good job of
training her and Paws for giving me the change to have had this
opportunity of living with Joia, who was so aptly named, for truly she was
a joy, and truly my "angel in disguise".

Justice is my first purebred and first Flat-Coated
Retriever, and we have grown and learned much together. Among his many
accomplishments:Earning his CH with 4 majors, a CD with a Dog World from
Novice A. He has been ranked in the Top Ten Flat-Coats in obedience in the
US and Canada (#3 US, #2 Canada in 1998). He attained the Flat-Coated
Retriever Society of America Hall of Fame in April 2000 at the age of 9.
Beyond these and other accomplishments, I'm most pround that's he's a good
citizen, welcoming all with affection and displaying the true Flat-Coat
personality.
I would especially like to thank two people for our success. First Jim
Storks for getting me into the breed (and showing Justice to his first 4pt
major from the puppy class). Secondly Linda Brady for her tutoring and
inspiration. Without the opportunities to learn and train, none of us
would have seen Justice's potential fulfilled. NEWS
FLASH !!!
Justice gets a JAM at the Canadian National Specialty while
his housemate "Chance" takes HIGH IN TRIAL !!!
